NHVR Portal Registration Services module

Heavy vehicle operators can use the Registration Services module on the NHVR Portal to access details of all the vehicles in their registered fleet (except for those vehicles registered in the Northern Territory that don't have a national heavy vehicle number plate).

This free service enables you to:

• confirm that details recorded by transport authorities align with your own records
• check registration changes and transfers have been processed correctly
• forecast registration renewals and costs
• share real-time vehicle records with other parties in the supply chain.

If you don't have an existing NHVR Portal account you will need to create one. Videos about how to use the Registration Services module can be viewed at www.nhvr.gov.au/regoportal

Note: You cannot make changes to registration information through the NHVR Portal. You should direct queries about, or corrections to, registration details to the relevant state or territory transport authority.

You can also use the mobile NHVR Registration Checker app to check the registration status of a vehicle.

Search for the NHVR Registration Checker in the iTunes App Store or Google Play Store and download the app on your smartphone or tablet. Please note: While the app is supported on Apple and Android devices, it may not work on all device types and versions.

The first time you access the app, you'll be asked to review and accept the Terms of Use before you can go to the search page.

Search for registration details

Tap on the Search registration button. You can search for the registration number of the vehicle you want to check by:

• using Take a picture and search and taking a picture of a number plate
• entering the registration number of the vehicle in the Search by Registration no field.

If the vehicle you're looking for doesn't appear in your search, then state or territory contact details will be displayed. Please contact the relevant transport authority directly with your query.

Registration details

After doing a search the Registration details will show.

If they apply to the vehicle you're searching for, you'll also see buttons for NHVAS Accreditation and Performance Based Standards (PBS). Tap on these buttons to see more information.

Favourites

You can save up to 50 Favourites by tapping on the star icon at the top right of the Search results screen and you can also see up to 50 searches in your History.
