In Victoria, the NHVR provides escort services to OSOM transport. Our NHVR Safety and Compliance Officers:

• provide escorts for vehicles carrying large indivisible items
• inspection services of vehicles and loads related to escort services.

Charges

The charge-out rate for these services is $263 per hour per escort vehicle (including GST), with a minimum charge of 2 hours for weekdays and 3 hours for weekends and public holidays. Charges start at the time specified in the booking to attend the pick-up point until completion of the service.

A cancellation fee applies for notice of cancellation received less than 24 hours prior to the service, with minimum charges of 2 hours on weekdays and 3 hours on weekends and public holidays.

Fees for these services are specified under the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator – Fee for Victorian Services Notice 2025 (No.1).

• Before you book an escort service, ensure you have a permit for the journey as bookings cannot be made without a permit.
• Please also ensure invoices for previous bookings have been paid by the due date.
