Victoria escort services

In Victoria, the NHVR provides escort services to OSOM transport. Our NHVR Safety and Compliance Officers:

• provide escorts for vehicles carrying large indivisible items
• inspection services of vehicles and loads related to escort services.

Please note: All other aspects of piloting/escorting remain with the Department of Transport and Planning Victoria. More information can be found at Escort and pilot vehicles | Transport Victoria. 

Charges

The charge-out rate for these services is $248 per hour (including GST), with a minimum charge of 2 hours for weekdays and 3 hours for weekends and public holidays. More information can be found in the our Fee schedule.

• Before you book an escort service, ensure you have a permit for the journey as bookings cannot be made without a permit.
• Please also ensure invoices for previous bookings have been paid by the due date.
