The updated Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and new Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (HVA) scheme take effect on 1 August 2026. From this date, the NHVR will no longer have authority to grant any new NHVAS accreditation. During this transition you will still be able to submit certain NHVAS applications and forms.
